A tune is NOT required on all versions of these turbos, but you will always get more power if you get a custom tune (any CARB Exemption status would be invalidated by doing that). Also note that these turbos are designed to fit on the stock turbo flanges.

The stock turbo on your Honda Civic has its limits. The more you try to squeeze power out of it, the more it begins to hit its limit. PRL resolves this issue with weak factory turbos by offering simple drop-in style turbo upgrades! Some versions of these drop-in turbos do not even require any tune, and still deliver outstanding immediate performance gains. Each turbo is built using top-quality components and is able to handle the abuse of race / track events.

Each turbo upgrade uses a stock-style compressor housing made of cast aluminum and a ceramic ball bearing CHRA (Center Housing Rotating Assembly) for an incredibly smooth operation. A larger upgraded point-milled 7075 aluminum compressor wheel is utilized for maximum flow and durability. The turbine wheel is also upgraded for high-efficiency and made from Inconel 713C. Each turbo is specifically designed to fit on the factory flange and can reuse the factory intake assembly too for an easy, drop-in installation.
