The Perrin heat shield is perfect way to keep temps low in your Subaru WRX STI's engine bay. It is designed to easily cover the majority of the turbo and still have ample space for an aftermarket or larger downpipe. These Perrin heat shields are made from formed 304 stainless steel and spot welded for rigidity and prevention of rattling noises. To ensure that the welds are of high quality, each batch is put to their "Nugget Test," in which some shields from a batch are taken and the welds are put under stress. The test should leave a "Nugget" of metal on the actual weld showing that the metal will fail before the weld.

Installation is a simple bolt on process that does not require removal of the intercooler or turbocharger. Two of the OEM heat shield brackets must be reused (Subaru part numbers: 44021AA014 and 14427AA022).
