COBB LF Recirculating Blow Off Valve (BOV) / Bypass Valve (BPV) Description

CARB Compliance / Exemption Warning: If you live in California and your application for this product is not CARB Compliant / Exempt, then you cannot purchase it for public highway or street use (in that case it could only be used for formally sanctioned race use on a racing vehicle that may never be used on a public highway or street). If your application is not CARB Compliant / Exempt and you're shipping to California, our system will let you know on the final checkout page.

This manufacturer has a policy which prevents shipment to California for applications of this product that are not CARB Compliant / Exempt. Therefore, if you live in California, you will not be able to receive your part if it does not have a CARB EO #, even if it is for a dedicated race vehicle.

These valves are designed to be recirculating. They can be vented to atmosphere, but will require a custom non-MAF tune and modification of the return line.

Also known as a Recirculating Blow Off Valve (BOV), the COBB LF Bypass Valve (BPV) is a compact and lightweight by-pass valve that is capable of holding very high boost pressure without leaking. Its unique design allows for extremely fast venting of boost when actuated. It is designed to operate in multiple venting modes and can be quickly reconfigured using simple hand tools. Innovative engineering and precision manufacturing result in a compact package able to fit in the confines of a tight engine bay.

The LF Bypass Valve is able to vent pressurized air more quickly than other bypass valves due to several unique design elements. Due to the low weight of the components, the moving parts in the LF Bypass Valve have less inertia and can respond faster than heavier components in other bypass valves. Furthermore, the shapes of the exhaust port and piston face are designed to evacuate air as quickly as possible. The third design element is treatment of the piston with hard anodizing and a Teflon coating that provides low sliding friction, reduces surface wear and minimizes maintenance requirements.

Key Features:
  • Eliminates boost leaks often found when using OEM bypass valves.
  • Direct Fit with application specific install hardware.
  • Vents Pressurized air very quickly due to lightweight components and port shape.
  • Unique "PShht" sound due to speed of air release.
  • Compatible with water/methanol injection.
  • Lighter and stronger than most other blow off valves available.
  • Adjustable spring pre-load for fine tuning.
