Some spring sets are compatible with factory or aftermarket off-road shocks / struts, while other sets require they be matched with ARB OME Nitrocharger Plus or MT64 shocks / struts ONLY. When off-roading, you often need an increase in carrying ability to compensate for the added weight of accessories such as a steel bumper, winch, fuel/jerry cans, tires, high lift jack, just to name a few items. In addition, you want your vehicle to sustain ample road clearance and better navigate difficult trails.

With this in mind, the ARB Old Man Emu (OME) Lift Springs are engineered to optimize suspension performance and increase payload capacity, while maintaining an increased ride height! By tailoring proprietary spring free-height and spring material thickness/diameter specifications, ARB is able to engineer springs that bring only improvements with virtually zero undesired effects otherwise.

While these lift springs may lift your Toyota 4Runner a bit over factory ride height, their main objective is to increase load carrying ability and maintain good road clearance. Each spring set is rated for a particular load capacity, and are typically offered in one of three options. The Standard Load springs are recommended for stock vehicles or ones with a few added accessories or modifications in the weight range of 0 to 110 lbs. Medium Load springs sets are typically recommended for 110 to 220 lbs over factory, usually a vehicle with added weight such as a bull bar, steel bumper, or tailgate camper/roof tent. Heavy Load springs are catered to vehicles with a constant load of 220 lbs or more over factory, often vehicles with a steel bumper and winch, or spare tire and fuel carriers.

Load Ranges are rated as such (see notes on your application for more specific ranges):

• Standard Load: Factory weight / load to about 100 lbs over factory in vehicle accessories (or modifications).
• Medium Load: 110 to 220 lbs over factory in vehicle accessories (or modifications).
• Heavy Load: 220+ lbs over factory weight / load in vehicle accessories (or modifications).
